Ironing - Love It or Hate It?

Have you noticed how quickly an ironing pile can grow? Seemingly without help it begins to climb the wall!
Believe it or not ironing is actually my most favourite domestic chore, when it's done we have rows of clean, wearable clothes - BUT it is so time consuming and makes me hotter than ever when the weather is so warm.
I have neglected my pile for too long so today I'll work on reducing this mountain and make no miniatures.
But to add a little interest for me and my regular followers I will send a small prize to the person who can guess the correct number of garments in the pile! Oh I know how to have fun, don't I?

Boxes of Fabric

After making the box of ribbons I decided fabric was needed to go with them so today I had fun making two boxes of fat quarters. I wish I had these in real life!
When I showed them to my husband  he asked 'How much more stuff can you accumulate?'
I'll show him!
Football is his thing - miniatures are mine.
Bye for now,

Ribbons

Today was my last day of being 'home alone' and I made the most of it. I made printed fabric ribbons on pretty spools and a box to store them. I love all things haberdashery full size and small ones even more.
I'm off to bed early as the drive to the airport takes an hour and a half and I have to be there for 8.30am. Now I must clear everything away and pretend I've been tidy all week! Good night.

A Lovely Long Summer

It's been a lovely summer and I have to tell you that it continues here! I'm lucky enough to still be making minis in the garden and now that all the family visits are over and I have more time I can show you what has been happening in my mini world.
I was sent an amazing surprise present from Iris! It was such a lovely thing to do, I couldn't believe she had made all these things for me.
Iris is new to making miniatures (so she says!) but is obviously a natural. Everything is beautifully made. She also has a new blog showing all the gorgeous things she makes and has lots of followers already. Take a look here. Congratulations on your new blog, Iris and thank you again for the lovely presents.

I've also been making bedding for my second swap with Kaisa. She has sent me a little cradle and like our previous swap with the sofa bed, I've made bedding for hers. This is the cradle. And just like Kaisa she also sent me more presents - a rocking horse and a toy 'pop gun'. Thank you so much.
I can't show you the bedding until Kaisa receives it and I only posted it today.

As I mentioned before I don't buy many dolls but this one I bought a few years ago at a fair in Felixstow just because she has such a lovely outfit and I decided she can now sit in the tea shop.

Now I must work on some orders I have for my Etsy shop. I hope you're having a good week and the sun is shining in your part of the world.

Haberdashery Day

I've worked all day, my kind of work of course - making minis. As I love haberdashery so much I made some in miniature.
Then I dressed up the little sewing machine. Can you see the turned bone thimble? I bought it at the London Kensington fair many years ago and still have it because it's stuck to the table with a huge lump of Grip Wax!
Then I was thinking about gifts. Perfume, baby gift bags, new baby card scanned from my daughter's birth card (1978) and some pretty gift tags.
The little 'Eat Cupcakes' gift tags in the centre were made from some lovely designs I bought in full size from
Olga who lives in Athens.
Now I must go and cook, my husband wonders if he still has a wife -I've been hiding all day!
Have a good week,
